4 Bears Roar Set To Begin Training Camp

The 4 Bears Roar, members of the TBL, have announced that the team will host their 2026 Preseason Training Camp in Las Vegas, Nevada. The camp will run from Thursday, February 6th through Sunday, February 8th. The Roar are set to begin their inaugural season in late February, so now it's all about putting the final touches to the roster.

4 Bears Roar general manager Derrick Hammonds says this is the opportunity for players to prove themselves.

"The guys coming to this camp all have special skills and abilities that we recognized," said Hammonds. "These players are not here for a tryout, it's training camp. We want to see how these guys do playing together."

Players attending camp were provided the opportunity through various avenues including free agent signings, open invites, or drafted. The TBL Combine Draft will be held on Sunday, February 1st in Indianapolis, Indiana. 80 players will be selected in the 2026 TBL Draft after showcasing in front of all teams and coaches over two days. The TBL has seen players just like these go on to higher levels such as NBA players Lindy Waters III (San Antonio Spurs) and Kylor Kelley (Dallas Mavericks).

"There is a dream in all professional athletes," said David Magley, president of the TBL. Magley was Mr. Basketball 1978 in Indiana before being a star player at the University of Kansas from 1978-1982. He was selected in the 2nd round of the 1982 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and began his NBA career.

"For some guys, the dream is just playing professionally. For others, it's dreams of making it to the NBA," said Magley. "And the TBL continues to offer that opportunity to these young men."

The Roar will host training camp at the Pearson Community Center with accommodations at The Strat Hotel, Casino, & Tower. The camp will involve interviews, workouts, breakout sessions, and full scrimmages. The Roar have 25 players coming into camp competing for 15 roster spots to begin the season. Following training camp, the Roar players will report to Minot, ND for team workouts before moving into the 4 Bears Event Center inside 4 Bears Casino & Lodge for the season.
