Coach Casey Gets 100th Win
On Friday night, Roar head coach Wayne Casey got his 100th win professionally as a head coach with the 122-104 victory over the Grant County Redtails.
"I'm so proud of my guys," said head coach Wayne Casey. "I'm honored to reach this milestone, but I'm even happier that we got the win for our people."
After a hall of fame career at West Virginia State University, Casey would keep his skills on the court as a professional player all over the world including a brief stint in the Sacramento Kings organization. One of his stops as a player would be in Iceland where he was an All-Star in 1994. Coach Casey would eventually return to Iceland years later to begin his professional head coaching career. Most recently, Coach Casey led the West Virginia Grind of the TBL to a good season and would lead the Logansport Iron Horses of the TBL in 2025 to a semi-finals appearance in the playoffs.
"I've been blessed to have great players, great staff, great coaches, and great opportunities," said Casey.
The league's CEO Evelyn Magley and president David Magley were in attendance on Friday night and helped present the awards to Coach Casey. TBL president David Magley, also a former professional head coach, said it was a great thing for the 4 Bears community to welcome Coach Casey in.
Coach Casey now has a career record of 100-31 going into tonight's home game vs. the Grant County Redtails.
