Phinisee Leads Roar To Game 1 Victory, 96-92
NEW TOWN, ND – The 4 Bears Roar began Round 2 of the 2026 TBL Playoffs against the defending TBL West Division champion Great Falls Electric. Game 1 was scheduled for Wednesday night, due to an upcoming concert at 4 Bears Casino.
The Roar (25-1, 2-0) faced off against the Electric (18-8, 2-0). In the 1st quarter, both teams made it very apparent that this would be a great playoff series, as both teams went back and forth in scoring. Neither team collectively went on a run in the first half. Roar point guard Rob Phinisee continued to showcase that he will lead the team throughout the playoffs. Battled by injuries for most of the season, Phinisee is easily a candidate for the 2026 TBL Playoffs MVP.
The Roar would lead at halftime by only one point, 43-42. The second half would be much of the same. Electric players Ja’Michael Brown and Manny Izunabor led them in scoring. But the Roar would find rhythm, led by Phinisee, and get some scoring from 2026 TBL All-Star Deshawn Munson. With just seconds left, the Phinisee would hit some key free throws to give them the lead and the win 96-92.
The Roar were led in scoring by Rob Phinisee with 22 points and 8 assists. Guard Deshawn Munson added 17 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. Guard Alejandro Rama contributed 11 points.
The Roar (26-1, 3-0) will now travel to Montana for Game 2 on Friday, June 5th against the Great Falls Electric (18-9, 2-1) at Providence College. Watch the game on TBLTV.tv/Roar.
