Roar Acquires 2027 Draft Pick

On Wednesday morning, the 4 Bears Roar announced that the team has acquired the 2027 1st Round Draft Pick from the Grant County Redtails (TBL). The Roar had a successful weekend against the Great Falls Electric, sweeping the defending Western Conference champions.

In exchange, the Roar sent guard Ernest Carter to the Redtails. Carter was an open invite to the Roar Training Camp in Las Vegas, NV. He had previously played in Logansport (TBL) for Roar head coach Wayne Casey. Carter, who was on the inactive roster this weekend, will join the Redtails who are 1-0 after a 139-96 win over the Tri-Cities SunDevils last Friday.

The Roar acquire the 2027 1st Round Draft Pick from the Grant County Redtails. Pick selection is a random draw at the pre-draft meetings in Indianapolis, next January. In the 2026 TBL Draft, the Roar selected 6'8" forward Jimario Rivers (1st Round, 5th Overall Pick) and 6'0" point guard Marcus Friend (1st Round, 22nd Overall Pick) who are currently on the Roar's active roster. Rivers is currently averaging 12 points and 5 rebounds a game for the Roar, including 16 points on Monday night. Friend only saw action in one game against Great Falls, scoring 6 points off the bench. The Roar also selected 6'7" forward Denzel Smith (1st Round, 17th Overall Pick) but was cut following training camp.
