Roar Add Former Jayhawks Star

The 4 Bears Roar, a professional basketball team in the TBL, are pleased to announce the addition of 6'5" guard LaGerald Vick of Memphis, TN.

Many Jayhawk fans in North Dakota may recognize the name as he helped lead the University of Kansas to a Final Four between 2015-2019. Vick averaged 14.1 points per game for the Jayhawks his senior year, while shooting 46% from the 3-point line. After KU, he joined the NBA's Houston Rockets before going overseas to play for Yulon Luxgen Dinos in Taiwan, where his team lost in the championship finals. Vick had stops in Colombia, Uruguay, Venezuela, New Zealand, and then spent two seasons in the CIBACOPA league of Mexico, the top tier professional basketball league. There he was a 2x All-Star and 2x Champion with the Astros de Jalisco.

"Vick can score at ease, but his biggest attribute is he can play defense against anyone," said Roar general manager Derrick Hammonds. "He can play 94 feet and shut down the wings and take those scorers off the table."

Vick, 29, joins a childhood friend in 6'5" guard Tavin Cummings, also originally of Memphis, TN.

"Those are a couple of nice wings," said Ward Hilger, the Roar Director of Operations. "I enjoyed talking with these two young men on the phone and they are excited to get to team up together, all with one goal of a ring."

The Roar will open the season February 27th on the road against the reining 2025 Western Conference champion Great Falls Electric. The Roar will play their first home game on March 13th against the Las Vegas Fortune at 4 Bears Event Center in New Town, ND. Ticket information is coming soon.
