Roar Beat Electric 109-101

On Friday night, the 4 Bears Roar got their 8th win of the season defeating the defending Western Conference champion Great Falls Electric, 109-101.

The Roar jumped out to a huge lead to kick off the game. The 4 Bears Event Center had a top attendance for the season and the Roar capitalized on the energy. But the Electric would find a spark getting things almost even at halftime 56-50. In the 2nd half, the Roar would steadily stay ahead of the Electric for the win.

Roar guard Deshawn Munson had a triple-double in his first game back after a week off for family leave. The 6'4" former MVP had 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Jimario Rivers, the dynamic 6'8" player off the bench for the Roar added a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The Roar had six players in double digit scoring including guard Tavin Cummings with 11, forward Tavares Sledge with 10, and center Kentrevious Jones with 15. Guard Rob Phinisee, who has missed a good chunk of games this season with injury, made a brilliant return to the Roar starting lineup adding 19 points including 4/7 from the 3-point line.

The Electric were led in scoring by guard Larry Plummer with 25 who played the entire 48 minutes of the game. Standout guard Deon Lyle, recently named the TBL Player of the Week also had a triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists. The Electric only played 7 players with all but one having double-digit scoring.

The 4 Bears Roar now improve to (8-1) on the season while the Great Falls Electric drop to (5-4). Game 2 of this weekend series takes place tomorrow night, March 28th at the 4 Bears Event Center. Doors open at 6:00pm Central, with tip-off at 7:00pm Central.
