Roar Lose To Potawatomi, 120-100

NEW TOWN, ND – The 4 Bears Roar dropped only their 2nd game of the season in a hard fought 120-100 loss to the Potawatomi Fire in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night.

For the Roar, they were led in scoring by guard Rob Phinisee with 25 points and 7 assists. Though down by a game now, Phinisee continues his quest for a TBL Playoff MVP Award.

Former Potawatomi Fire and current 4 Bears Roar guard Deshawn Munson had 16 points, 11 assists, and was two rebounds shy (8) of a triple double against his former team. Munson won 3 championships with the Fire along with a TBL MVP and two TBL Playoff MVP awards. Other top scorers for the Roar included forward Lacey James with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Alejandro Rama added 12 and guard Cortez Mosley contributed 11 off the bench.

The Fire were led in scoring by guard Jahmal McMurray with 26 points and KD Moore with 21.

The Roar will now travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma tomorrow in preparation for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals at FireLake Arena. For the Potawatomi Fire, they have now won 42 consecutive games straight in the TBL and the Roar have their hands full as they have won 65 straight games inside FireLake Arena. Game 2 will be on Sunday, June 14th at 7:00pm Central. If the Roar force Game 3, it will be held on Monday, June 15th.
