Roar On The Road Showcase: April 10 & 11
The 4 Bears Roar announced today that the team will play a neutral site series on April 10 & 11 in Glendive, Montana at the Toepke Center on the campus of Dawson Community College.
The 4 Bears Roar will take on the Mesquite Desert Dogs, the league's travel team for two games in Glendive, both starting at 7:00pm MT. The Roar are currently 2-0 after two big wins against the Great Falls Electric, the defending Western Conference champions from 2025. The Mesquite Desert Dogs were originally announced as the Nevada Silverbacks, but recently became a travel team for the league to better serve its opponents in the Western Conference. The Desert Dogs will play their first games this weekend at the Great Falls Electric, while the 4 Bears Roar will head to Arizona to take on the Mesa Monsoons.
For the community of Glendive, basketball is nothing new. Home to the DCHS Red Devils and the Dawson Community College Buccaneers, basketball has been a sport that has thrived in its community for years. The DCHS Red Devils have typically had a strong high school team every season. The Dawson Community College Buccaneers have compiled a 151-36 record since COVID, in 6 seasons. DCC head coach Joe Peterson has revived the Buccaneers program to dominance including a Mon-Dak Conference Championship and NJCAA Region XIII Championship in 2025. Former NBA 1st Round Pick (3rd overall) Adam Morrison was born in Glendive while his father was a coach at Dawson Community College. The 7'0" forward Derek Selvig graduated high school in Glendive at DCHS and then graduated the University of Montana before playing professionally in Germany for a couple seasons. Selvig is currently the head basketball coach at Dickinson State University.
For the 4 Bears Roar, they also have a connection back to Glendive. Ward Hilger, the Roar's Director of Operations is an alum of Dawson County High School and Dawson Community College, while Kayleigh (Kirkpatrick) Packineau is the Director of Public Relations.
"Glendive will love this level of professional basketball," said Ward Hilger. "High flying dunks, big time shots."
Half of the gate revenue from both games will be donated by the Roar to DCC athletics, along with all concessions sales being retained by DCC. Roar merchandise will be available at the games.
