Roar Players Eliminated From TBT

The TBT Tournament came to an end for two 4 Bears Roar players on Monday.

The TBT Tournament is a $2,000,000 winner-take-all tournament showcasing some of the best talent in the game. The 4 Bears Roar, members of the TBL, were pleased to have two most-recent Roar players competing in the tournament, along with one former Roar player. The tournament took place in Las Vegas for the bracket featuring the Roar players.

6’9” TBL-veteran Tavares Sledge competed for Red Rose War Ready. Sledge has competed with this team in the past on other international stages, but the chance at $2,000,000 came calling. The late addition to the 2026 Roar roster was 6’9” power center Lacey James, fresh off another season in the NBA G-League. James is dressing for the Gotham City Bockers. And finally, the 6’7” guard Hunter Woods who spent training camp and the first 6 weeks of the season with the Roar is also playing for Red Rose War Ready.

“This is great to see our players getting opportunities at some of the highest levels,” said Roar GM Derrick Hammonds.

Sledge was limited in the team’s first game victory 75-72 over Heartfire Elite on July 22nd. The next night, the Red Rose team would fall 68-64 to The Mecca. These games were played at the M Resort in Las Vegas. Monday July 27th however would see all the Roar players face off as Red Rose took on Gotham City, winning 65-63. Sledge added 5 points. Lacey James would have 7 rebounds and add 4 points for the Bockers. That would eliminate James’ TBT run. On Tuesday, July 28th the Red Rose team would be defeated by Davis Steel 83-67, eliminated them from the TBT Tournament.

"This was my first time in the TBT tournament and it was a good experience," said Lacey James. "It was a blessing being invited out to (Las) Vegas to compete."

James will now return to his off-season workouts and preparation for the 2026-2027 NBA G-League season with the Milwaukee Bucks organization. Sledge is returning to Maryland to continue his off-season workouts, ready to chase down a TBL Championship.

The 4 Bears Roar had the biggest showing in the TBT Tournament with 3 players, the most among all TBL teams. A great showing for the 2026 TBL West Division Champions as they look to return in 2027 towards a TBL Championship.

The TBT Tournament comes down to Davis Steel vs. The Mecca on one side of the bracket, with JHX Hoops (Kansas Jayhawks Alumni) and La Familia (Kentucky Wildcats Alumni) on the other side of the bracket. Find all the updates and track the down the $2,000,000 Take-All Winner at TBTHoops.com.
