Roar Sign 4x All-Star Sledge

On Tuesday, the 4 Bears Roar announced the free agent signing of four-time TBL All-Star Tavares Sledge for the 2026 season.

The 6’9” veteran Sledge is entering his 10th professional season where he has had overseas contracts in Chile, Italy, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, China, and more. In 2021, he won a TBL Championship in 2021 as a member of the Enid Outlaws, where he average 16.8 points and 10 rebounds a game. He spent the 2023 season with the St. Louis Griffins and the last two seasons with the Frederick Flying Cows where he averaged 17.2 points and 9.6 rebounds a game.

“I’ve been a fan of him every since I’ve been in the TBL,” said Roar head coach Wayne Casey.

Sledge being a former TBL Champion has also been TBL All-Star in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025. In over 90 TBL games, Sledge is shooting 56% from the floor and 36% from behind the 3-point line. Last year in the $1,000,000 TBT tournament, Sledge played in 5 games averaging 8 points and 5.2 rebounds a game.

“He brings veteran leadership and consistency on the court as a player,” added Casey.

Sledge will join the Roar (4-0) as they take on the Mesquite Desert Dogs (0-2) at home, inside the 4 Bears Event Center on Friday, March 13th. Game time is set for 7:00pm. Get advanced tickets at www.4BearsRoar.com/tickets.
