Roar Sign 7-Foot All-Star
The 4 Bears Roar, a professional basketball club in the TBL, is pleased to announce the addition of center Tyjhai Byers of Maryland.
The 7'0" center comes to the Roar after a very successful season in Australia where he was named a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year and received a 2nd-Team Honor for the season. He also was one of the league's leaders in rebounds. Byers came highly recommended by the scouting staff after putting up impressive numbers in Australia, including putting up 16 points per game.
The Bethesda, Maryland native attended Morgan State University where he played NCAA Division-I basketball for two seasons. He then attended Elizabeth City State University where he played in 54 games averaging 7.3 points and 5.5 rebounds. Byers has played professional in Zimbabwe, Cameroon, and Australia.
Byers will join the rest of the team February 6-8 at the Roar Training Camp in Las Vegas, NV presented by Dynamic Gaming Solutions. The Roar open up the season on the road against the reining Western Conference champions Great Falls Electric in Montana on February 27-28.
