Roar Sign Former Ole Miss Standout

NEW TOWN, ND – The 4 Bears Roar announced on Sunday the signing of free agent guard Rasheed Brooks for the remainder of the 2026 TBL season.

The 6’6” guard originally from Mansfield, Ohio is known for being a shooter. The former NJCAA All-American from Southwest Tennessee Community College committed to NCAA Division I University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where he would go on to play in 65 games shooting 34% from the 3-point arch. Following the Rebels, Brooks participated in NBA workouts before embarking on a successful professional career overseas. In 2023, he averaged 15.6 points per game for the former Rockwall 7ers of the TBL. He would have an impressive career in Armenia with Yerevan Wolves before signing a contract in 2026 with the Columbus Wizards of the TBL. So far in 2026, he has averaged 13.8 points per game while shooting over 50% from the floor. In late April, Brooks opted out of his contract with the Wizards to pursue better opportunities.

“We needed shooting bad,” said Trey Stephens, the Director of Player Personnel for the Roar. “Brooks brings athleticism, quickness, and shooting to our perimeter.”

Roar forward and TBL West All-Star Jimario Rivers played junior college basketball with Brooks. Rivers went to the University of Memphis, which Brooks also considered before signing with Ole Miss. Brooks also played in the TBT Tournament with Roar point guard Rob Phinisee.

“He can shoot it,” said Phinisee. The Roar are currently in the bottom third for 3-point shooting in the TBL this season.

Brooks will join the 4 Bears Roar officially on Monday as the team returns from their break. The Roar take on the Willamette Valley Jaguars on May 8th and 9th at the 4 Bears Event Center in New Town, ND. Get your tickets at 4BearsRoar.com.
