Roar Sweep Monsoons, 115-93

NEWTOWN, ND – Saturday the Roar organization dedicated the evening to those affected by cancer and to bring awareness to those to get screened. The players wore special purple jerseys with a commemorative Roar Cancer Ribbon logo. Special t-shirts were also sold in the Roar Store merchandise booth. The Roar (20-1) would take on the Mesa Monsoons (8-9) at the 4 Bears Event Center.

The Roar would get hot right away with three-pointers from guard Jimmy Moore. But Mesa would chip away at the Roar to keep close ending the 1st quarter 30-23. The 2nd quarter would be a struggle for the Monsoons as the Roar would jump to a 53-39 lead at the half. At the start of the 4th quarter, the Roar would have a 22-point lead and that’s how it would end with a 115-93 victory. The Roar had two players with double-doubles including guard Alejandro Rama with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and center Lacey James with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Jimario Rivers would add 18 points, guard Rasheed Brooks had 14 points, and guard Cortez Mosley had 11 points all off the bench.
