ROAR WIN GAME 1, 159-79!
NEW TOWN, ND – On Friday night, the 4 Bears Roar kicked off their campaign towards a TBL Championship with the first game of Round 1 in the TBL Playoffs against the Willamette Valley Jaguars.
The first quarter would be all Roar with a 46-10 lead. Roar guard Rob Phinisee put together 24 points in the first 12 minutes of the game. The Roar would be dominant getting to the hoop. Guard Taevon Horton would also have success from the 3 point line. The 2nd quarter would see more of the same with the Roar getting scoring from all down the bench. At halftime, the Roar would have a commanding lead 88-35.
The 2nd half would become a runaway for the Roar, leading 124-57. The Jaguars would struggle to get any momentum or runs going. The Roar would use much of the 4th quarter to work on areas in preparation for tomorrow night’s game with the Jags. The Roar would finish it out with a 80-point win, 159-79.
The Roar were led in scoring by guard Rob Phinisee with 32 points and 10 rebounds. Other top leading scorers included Cortez Mosley (24), Taevon Horton (23), Andrew Gordon (17), Alejandro Rama (13), and Tavares Sledge (11). The Jaguars were led in scoring by Lybrant Robinson Jr. with 18 points.
