TBL Summer League Concludes

Hopeful players, new teams, current General Managers, and high-level professional scouts all converged on Las Vegas this weekend for the 2026 TBL Summer League. Nearly 100 players showcased for these team executives and scouts in hopes of being signed to a professional contract for the upcoming TBL season.

"This is all about growth," said TBL president David Magley, who was in attendance for the TBL Summer League. "Some of these players will leave here with a contract."

But for the rest of the players, they are on the minds of the TBL owners and General Managers. Players are constantly looking for the next best opportunity and the TBL offers that for young, prospective professional players.

"This is our first year going to the TBL Summer League so we're excited to see what it can offer," said Roar Director of Player Personnel Trey Stephens.

Roar General Manager Derrick Hammonds spent the week in Las Vegas meeting players, other General Managers, other team owners. The networking alone becomes a very valuable asset for the upcoming season. Hammonds, in his first year as a professional basketball executive, helped assemble the team that would ultimately win the most games in the entire 2026 TBL season and playoffs. However, the Roar fell short getting into the TBL Championship with a heart-pounding loss to the 3x (now 4x) defending TBL champs Potawatomi Fire.

But as the off-season progresses, GM Hammonds, player personnel Trey Stephens, and the Roar coaching staff have began the search for the puzzle pieces towards a 2027 TBL Championship for the 4 Bears Roar, 4 Bears Casino, and the passionate fans and people of MHA Nation.
